Grounding
When grounding, we aim to encourage the nervous system to lower out of a hyperarousal state and into our window of tolerance. Any amount of lowering the vibrating, busy feeling of anxiety is worth it when we are recovering from chronic anxiety. If the body cannot fight or flee (expressions you may also try by wall pressing or going on walk), we aim to show it safety in the present moment through moving our body down and back. These opposing movements signal that we may not need as much anxiety in the system as predicted.
In the audio, I merge together several of the prompts from the 3 grounding worksheets attached.
